Jana Katsuyama is an American Emmy Award-winning journalist currently working as a news reporter and fill-in anchor at KTVU 2 News. Katsuyama joined KTVU in 2007 and became a member of the Ten o’Clock News crew in 2012. Jana has won many Emmys throughout her career at KTVU, and her investigation into paper automotive dealer plate loopholes resulted in an Assembly bill that amended California’s license plate legislation, requiring new automobiles to have a license plate.

She has covered wildfires in the North Bay and Southern California, been tear-gassed while reporting on Occupy protests, flown with the Red Barons in an open cockpit plane over Lake Superior, anchored breaking news coverage during the first hours of the Boston Marathon bombing, and conducted live reports from Tokyo just days after the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami disaster, connecting with Bay Area residents in Japan.

Jana worked as an anchor and reporter for ABC affiliate WDTN-TV in Dayton, Ohio, before joining KTVU. She began her career at KBJR-TV, an NBC affiliate in Duluth, Minnesota, near Lake Superior. Jana worked as an international relations coordinator for the Hiroshima YMCA Medical College in Yonago, Japan, before starting her media career.
