Mark Tamayo is an American Emmy Award-winning journalist and the Chief Meteorologist at KTVU FOX 2 News based in the San Francisco Bay Area. He joined the station in 2008 and was officially named Chief Meteorologist in May 2025, succeeding the legendary Bill Martin. A native of the Bay Area, Mark is highly regarded for his science-based approach and calm demeanor while tracking Northern California’s complex weather patterns.
Mark formerly worked as a meteorologist at KRON 4 in San Francisco. His career has been entirely focused on California, with previous roles at KSBW in Salinas and his very first job at KVIQ in Eureka.
