Lauren Rainson is an American meteorologist current;y working as a meteorologist and reporter for 12News. She joined the 12News team in March 2022 and contributes across all shows and platforms, covering Arizona’s wide range of changing weather patterns.
Rainson enjoys educating people about the various ways that weather affects their life, from intense heat and drought to hail, sleet, and snow, mudslides and flooding, climate change, and monsoons.
Rainson, a proud alumnus of Eastern Illinois University with a degree in broadcast meteorology, was born and raised in Central Illinois. She continued on to Mississippi State University to complete her master’s degree there and obtained the National Weather Association Television Seal of Approval.
Lauren began her career as a forecaster at Decatur, Illinois’s WAND-TV (NBC). Later, she served as the morning meteorologist for WYZZ-TV (Fox) and WMBD (CBS) in the Peoria-Bloomington market. She later joined AccuWeather, and her predictions started airing nationwide on Yahoo Finance, ABC World News Now, and Fox News.
Lauren and her spouse adore Arizona and the Sonoran Desert’s exceptional splendor. She likes to travel, hike, bike, work out, and explore the Grand Canyon State.
