IShowSpeed (real name Darren Jason Watkins Jr.) is an American-Ghanaian journalist, online streamer, and musician currently working as a global content creator based in the United States and West Africa. He is regarded as one of the most popular internet personalities in the world, famous for his high-energy, eccentric, and often chaotic livestreams. Having joined the digital space in 2016, he officially reached the historic milestone of 50 million YouTube subscribers on his 21st birthday in January 2026, becoming the first individual Black creator to do so.
Speed formerly focused on gaming content, specifically NBA 2K and Fortnite, before shifting his attention to soccer-related travel and real-life (IRL) variety streaming.
