Greg Lee Bio
Greg Lee is an American journalist currently working as an anchor and political reporter at KTVU FOX 2 News, based in the San Francisco Bay Area. He joined the station in September 2019. Beyond his role as a political reporter, he anchors the 5 p.m., 6 p.m., 10 p.m., and 11 p.m. news on Friday nights. He is well-known for producing and creating KTVU’s monthly special, “Voices for Change,” which explores issues of social justice and equity.
Greg formerly worked at KABC in Los Angeles and KESQ in Palm Springs, where he served as a news reporter and sports anchor. He also spent time as a sports producer for KTLA-TV in Los Angeles, where he interviewed legendary athletes such as Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, and Kobe Bryant.
During his tenure at KTVU, Greg has covered several major political events, including the 2020 primaries and elections. He has conducted multiple interviews with Governor Gavin Newsom and various presidential candidates. In addition to politics, he has reported on breaking news, such as the 2020 Glass Fire, and has even participated in real-life law-enforcement car chases during ride-along assignments.
Greg grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and moved to Southern California to attend Pepperdine University in Malibu, where he earned a degree in broadcast news. During his college years, he gained experience anchoring, reporting, and producing for the campus cable channel.
In his spare time, Greg enjoys playing with his rescue dog, Clementine, exercising, and mentoring the next generation of journalists. He is an avid sports fan, particularly of the Lakers, and enjoys pretending he can still play soccer.
