Eugene Daniels is an accomplished American journalist who presently works as a Senior Washington Correspondent for MSNBC and President of the White House Correspondents’ Association (WHCA).
Daniels was raised mostly in Fort Cavazos (formerly Fort Hood), Texas, and is the son of a United States Army lieutenant colonel who served in Iraq. He played football at Shoemaker High School in Killeen before going on to Colorado State University, where he studied political science and journalism while playing defensive end for the Rams. He graduated in 2012, bringing an end to his collegiate football career due to a shoulder injury.
Daniels began his professional career on local television in Colorado Springs before transferring to Newsy, where he worked as a political reporter covering the 2016 primaries and general election.
