Chase Golightly Biography
Chase Golightly is an American journalist currently working as a reporter and multi-skilled journalist for 12News, contributing across all shows and platforms. In August 2022, Chase joined Team 12.
Before joining 12News, Chase worked for KOB4, an NBC affiliate in Albuquerque, New Mexico. During his time in Albuquerque, Chase covered a tragic middle school shooting in which a student brought a gun to school and killed another. He also covered the shooting of four police officers in the line of duty, the ‘Rust’ movie shooting featuring Alec Baldwin, several wildfires, and the case of a well-known state senator suspected of embezzling more than a million dollars from the state’s largest school district.
Chase was previously employed by Colorado Springs’ ABC station, KRDO, as a reporter and weekend anchor. Chase won the Colorado Broadcasters Association’s “Best Breaking News Coverage Under Deadline” award for his reporting on the Fort Carson Fire while he was living in Colorado Springs.
In addition, he received an Emmy nomination for his reporting during a severe hailstorm. Following Chase’s reporting on the discovery of an 89-year-old woman dead outside of a nursing home, the state launched an inquiry that resulted in the facility’s closure. His career began in Yuma where he worked as a weatherman, anchor, and MMJ. He also interned at KTAR News and reported and anchored for Cronkite News.
Chase received his bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. He was born and raised in Mesa, Arizona, and attended Mountain View High School before graduating.
