Amanda Quintana is an American journalist currently working as a news reporter and anchor at KTVU FOX 2 News, based in the San Francisco Bay Area. A proud Bay Area native, she joined the station in the summer of 2021. Reporting from the same region where she was raised, Amanda has a deep-rooted history in San Francisco news; her grandmother was actually the first female newspaper engraver in Northern California.
Amanda formerly worked as a news anchor and reporter at WISC-TV (News 3 Now) in Madison, Wisconsin, for four years. She began her on-camera career at KAPP/KVEW in the Tri-Cities, Washington, and previously worked behind the scenes at KPIX in San Francisco.
During her tenure at KTVU, Amanda has covered major local stories, including the Bay Area’s reopening following the pandemic, the search for missing Oakley woman Alexis Gabe, and multiple teacher and nurse strikes. While in the Midwest, she reported on high-profile events such as the George Floyd protests, ICE raids, and the 2017 total solar eclipse.
Amanda was raised in Hayward and attended Mercy High School Burlingame on the peninsula. she graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in journalism and a minor in sociology. During her college years, she was a member of the Kappa Delta sorority and the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.
In her spare time, Amanda is a self-proclaimed fashion lover and “dog mom” to her brown Labrador Retriever, Benni. She enjoys cooking, exploring the outdoors, and spending time with her family. A proud Latina, she often shares glimpses of her life as a “girl mom” and her adventures across the Bay Area.
