Liz Claman is an American journalist anchoring The Claman Countdown (3 PM/ET) on weekdays) at FOX Business Network. She joined the FBN’s team in 2007.
Her October FBN debut featured an exclusive interview with Berkshire Hathaway CEO and famed investor Warren Buffett. Claman has undertaken exclusive interviews with every US Treasury Secretary, including John Snow, Paul O’Neill, Larry Summers, Timothy Geithner, and Jack Lew. Liz previously worked as an anchor for CNBC, where she most recently hosted Morning Call and Wake Up Call, Market Watch, and Today’s Business. During her stint at CNBC, Claman secured the first one-hour live one-on-one interview with Warren Buffett. Claman, a two-time Emmy Award winner, worked as an anchor and reporter for WHDH-TV (NBC) in Boston before joining CNBC. She was also a contributing journalist for NBC’s syndicated daytime show RealLife. Prior to that, she hosted The Morning Exchange, a two-hour daily discussion program on WEWS-TV (ABC) Cleveland. She was awarded an Emmy for her work on The Morning Exchange. Claman was honored in the Cable Hall of Fame in April of 2024. Notably, she is the only Jewish woman who has received this accolade.
Liz attended Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts, where she worked as a disc jockey for the school radio station, WPAA, before attending Beverly Hills High School, where she made friends with Peter Schiff. She’s been acquainted with fellow Fox News correspondent Claudia Cowan since the second grade.
Later on, Liz who attended the University of California, Berkeley and the Sorbonne in Paris, began her on-air career as a reporter at WSYX-TV (ABC) in Columbus, Ohio, and eventually became a weekend anchor there. She formerly worked as a news associate for KCBS-TV (CBS) in Los Angeles, when she became the station’s youngest-ever winner of a local Emmy Award for Best Spot News Producer.
