Caribe Devine Biography
Caribe Devine is an American journalist currently working as an anchor at 12News at 5,6 and 10 alongside Mark Curtis. She started her work at 12News in 2005 as a live shot feature reporter and weekend weather anchor. In 2011, she became the lead meteorologist and moved to weeknights.
Caribe received recognition for her work covering the deadly disturbances that broke out during a President Trump rally in downtown Phoenix in 2018. She was nominated for a National Emmy Award and won an Edward R. Murrow Award. She has won multiple Emmy Awards for outstanding evening broadcast in a major TV market, is nominated for an Emmy, and was named the Associated Press’s “Best Anchor.”
Caribe claims El Paso, Texas, to be her hometown even though she was born in Longview, Texas. Caribe chose a different route for her undergraduate career after serving as a news anchor for the Andress High School student news broadcast throughout her high school years.
She earned a degree in elementary education from the University of Texas El Paso. Caribe returned to news broadcasting shortly after graduating from college, landing her first position as a weather anchor at KFOX-TV in El Paso, Texas. Before joining 12News, she was employed by KTSM-TV in El Paso as a reporter and weekend weather anchor.
In addition to being a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and the National Weather Association, Caribe has a diploma in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University.
