Krystle Henderson Biography
Krystle Henderson is a ten-time Emmy Award-winning meteorologist and a multi-skilled journalist currently working at 12News since September 2013. She is part of the 12News Today in AZ team, leading weather coverage, alongside Allison Rodriguez, Emily Pritchard, and Stella Sun.
Henderson kicked off her career in Medford, Oregon, where she served as weekend news and weather anchor as well as weekday multimedia journalist, covering southern Oregon and North California, at KTVL News 10, the CBS affiliate, for around four years. While at KTVL, Krystle received an Associated Press Award for Best Weathercast and another for Best Continuing Coverage.
Krystle graduated from Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism. She also minored in business at Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey School. She was accepted to the National Honour Society of Journalists. She received Summa Cum Laude.
Krystle fell in love with the weather while completing her degree at ASU. She did weathercasts for Cronkite Newswatch and wanted to understand more about the science behind it, so she attended Mississippi State University and earned a Bachelor of Science and a Certificate in Broadcast Meteorology.
Krystle has been on the NATAS Rocky Mountain Board of Governors since 2018 and the foundation since its inception in 2019. She now serves as the Education Chairperson. Henderson became inspired to join the board after hosting the Student Production Awards in 2017. She has hosted every year since and is committed to empowering the next generation of journalists and meteorologists.
