Dagen McDowell Biography
Dagen McDowell is an American journalist currently working as co-host of FOX Business Network’s new evening program, The Bottom Line, alongside Sean Duffy. He joined FOX News Channel (FNC) in 2003 and was a founding anchor of FBN when the channel launched in 2007.
McDowell has delivered financial commentary and analysis on a variety of FOX News Media programs throughout the years, most notably on FBN’s Mornings with Maria and FNC’s Outnumbered, The Five, and Gutfeld! She gave news reports for the FBN simulcast of Imus in the Morning from 2011 to 2015, previously serving as the network’s business day anchor. In 2009, she co-hosted Your Problems, Your Money, a weekend call-in show meant to solve listeners’ most pressing economic problems. She is a skilled interviewer and has conducted several news-generating interviews, including with former Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, former Secretary of State and First Lady Hillary Clinton, financier Charles Schwab, Rep. Tim Ryan (D-OH), former Labor Secretary Eugene Scalia, and Lady Gaga’s father Joe Germanotta.
Before joining FOX News Media, McDowell published a personal finance column for TheStreet.com called “Dear Dagen.” She started as a financial journalist at Institutional Investor and later worked for SmartMoney magazine.
McDowell is a native of Campbell County, Virginia with an Irish family background. He attended and graduated from Wake Forest University with a degree in art history.
