Lydia Hu is an American journalist currently working as a correspondent for FOX Business Network (FBN). Hu joined the FBN team in 2021. She reports on agriculture, energy, real estate, and tourism for the network from its New York offices.
Prior to joining FBN, Hu served as an investigative reporter for Spectrum News NY1. Hu reported on the condition of New York City hospitals throughout the COVID-19 outbreak, highlighting the challenges of frontline healthcare workers. She also worked as a business anchor for the channel’s personal finance segment, Money on 1. Before joining NY1, Hu served as an investigative reporter and weekend nightly anchor for WBRC-TV in Birmingham, Alabama.
Lydia has won two New York Emmy Awards. In 2019, she won a New York Emmy for her work on NY1’s original documentary, The New York City Opioid Battle. In 2021, she was awarded a New York Emmy for her coverage of COVID-19 in Lives Lost: Saying Goodbye.
Her work has also received recognition from the Associated Press, Silurians Press Club, and Alabama Broadcasters Association.
Hu moved into media after five years of practicing law in Baltimore, Maryland. She received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Baltimore School of Law, a Master’s Degree in Journalism from Columbia University, and an undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland, College Park.
