Jon Fortt is an acclaimed American journalist currently serving as the co-anchor of CNBC’s “Closing Bell: Overtime.” Based at the network’s global headquarters in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, he is a leading authority on technology, innovation, and leadership. Fortt joined CNBC in July 2010 as a technology correspondent based in Silicon Valley before relocating to the New York area in 2013. 

Jon’s career began in print journalism at the Lexington Herald-Leader and the San Jose Mercury News, where he covered the early online revolution. He later served as a senior editor for Business 2.0 and a senior writer for Fortune magazine, covering tech giants like Apple, Microsoft, and Hewlett-Packard. In 2016, he launched “Fortt Knox,” a digital brand and podcast featuring in-depth interviews with top CEOs and founders, which now has its primary home on LinkedIn.
