Pam Cook Biography
Pam Cook is an American journalist currently working at KTVU-TV, FOX 2 in the San Francisco Bay Area as a morning news anchor. She joined the KTVU team in April 1997 as the business reporter, bringing her experience from working on the trading floor of a San Francisco Investment company. Even after taking on the role of early morning host for “Mornings on 2,” she has persisted in covering Wall Street news and figures as well as business tales.
Some of her favorite pieces to set up and write are the “Made in the Bay” segments, promoting local firms who create their products right here, in the Bay Area. These include Oakland-based “Ocho Candy,” “Green Toys,” which creates toys from repurposed milk bottles, and “Mighty Buildings,” which creates 3D printed homes!
Pam grew up on the beaches of San Diego and progressively traveled north, to attend UCLA to study Economics. After visiting San Francisco and Lake Tahoe with college buddies, she decided it was where she wanted to reside once she graduated.
Cook began working on the trading floor of Montgomery Securities, a prominent Wall Street business on the West Coast, as soon as she graduated from UCLA. But she wanted to continue her passion of journalism, so she started working on stories for shows on the local cable channel, including SF Politics and City Kids. After that, she reported and edited articles on KFTY 50 in Santa Rosa, authored tales, and presented “The Marin Report.”

Pam was on the air live during the 9/11 attacks, anchoring Mornings on 2, and says it changed the way she felt about her job. “I realized the important role we play in informing our viewers in a thoughtful, compassionate manner.” She says she thinks about it every day and strives to make sure we deliver stories that are compelling, balanced, and factual.
She frequently spends time at the beach, hiking the trails in the Redwoods, and traveling to the snow in the Sierra. Her favorite aspect of the Bay Area is the short trip to so many stunning locations.
She also enjoys the diversity of the individuals who reside here, who care so profoundly about so many vital topics.
When she’s not at work, Pam likes spending time with her family. She loves to ski, go on bike trips, play golf, and walk their adorable dog, Mo. Pam has been a cheerleader and dancing mom for many years. She claims that nothing is more enjoyable in the winter than working on a puzzle or playing board games on a wet Saturday.
